We’ve added a lot of new subscribers in the past few weeks (thank you!) so I thought it was a good time to provide an update on a few features and some coming changes.
Pricing:
DKI is about to increase pricing for new premium subscribers in the next few weeks. If you are a current DKI premium subscriber this does not affect you. We are not raising prices for current subscribers nor are we considering it.
For those of you who have been on the fence about a premium subscription, you are very welcome to take advantage of our current lower prices, or to pay the higher rate in the future. Either way, we’ll be happy to have you join us.
More Timely Information:
A couple of weeks ago, we had some subscribers become aware of portfolio changes the following day. Currently, we send an email out at 9am on any day there are new posts on the blog. We are in the process of changing this so that you’ll receive notice of new blog posts in real time. There is nothing you will need to do to benefit from this change.
We just changed some blog tabs to remove confusing items. This will make it easier for premium subscribers to find all relevant posts. We’ll also be adding new sections with more content in the near future.
More Information on Position Sizing:
I get a lot of subscriber questions regarding position sizing. We will start providing more clear disclosure about this on the Current Recommendations page. We’re working on the best way to show this data both clearly and accurately, and expect to start providing monthly position size updates later this year.
Reiteration of DKI Trading and Disclosure Policies:
If a position is on the Current Recommendations page, I own it in my personal account.
If I add to or sell shares in a position on the Current Recommendations page, I notify subscribers immediately. As above, you’ll start getting more timely notice of those posts as well.
The one very minor exception to this is on occasion, I may buy or sell a few shares because I want to see if there are intra-market bids/offers in the aftermarket, or to determine if the market is more deep or shallow than indicated by NASDAQ Level 2 data.
The tl/dr version: If I trade a non-trivial amount of a DKI-recommended position, there will be a blog post for premium subscribers explaining the trade.
Referral Program:
Some of you have noticed the new red referral program box on the website. The plan is to offer you a free month if you refer a new premium subscriber. We’re working on configuring that now. For those of you who don’t want to wait, no worries (and THANK YOU). Just refer a friend and tell them to add a note during checkout telling me who referred them. We can manually adjust your subscription dates until we have the automated system tested and working.
Upcoming Content:
I intentionally don’t post on a schedule. It’s my belief that DKI provides the best value when we have a very high signal to noise ratio. That means I post when I see something relevant to current positions, or when I think there is something meaningful the market is missing.
Lots of junk posts that either summarize the mainstream financial press, or reiterate the same points on a daily basis simply clog up people’s inboxes and will end up making reading DKI a daily chore. My goal is to have interesting differentiated content that helps you make money, and keeping the blog highly focused on that is the best way to do so.
Right now, I’m looking at two new investment opportunities.
One is a medical device company with a declining stock price due to some operational difficulties that I think will be resolved in a specific and attractive manner. It’s in a space where DKI has exceptional contacts and insight.
The other is a rare opportunity to invest in a private company at the intersection of energy and agricultural technology. Again, DKI has exceptional subject matter experts and I know management personally.
No decision has been made at this time and neither or both could end up as recommended positions. I will update you when I’ve completed my due diligence. That’s ongoing as I write this.
One More Thing:
From the beginning, DKI has made changes and improvements based on the helpful feedback from our subscribers. Thank you to those of you who have let me know what is and isn’t working for you. I read everything that comes to the email address below, and the entire team here is dedicated to ensuring we’re doing all we can to help you invest better.
