I recently had a talk with one of our Danish subscribers regarding President Trump’s interest in Greenland as well as his likely end goal for European tariffs. While President Trump’s public comments caused some concern in Denmark, the population there quickly calmed down and realized the US isn’t about to start a war with a long-time ally and NATO partner. Any change in status there would be because Denmark, Greenland, and the US came to an agreement that all thought served their own best interests.

However, showing their sense of humor, the Danes have struck back. Almost a quarter of a million Danes have signed a petition to buy California and make it great again. (Måke Califørnia Great Ægain) They have threatened to bring a cozy atmosphere and multi-ingredient sandwiches to the State. Showing they’re serious, the negotiating team is rumored to include Lego executives.

DKI suspects California may just be a staging ground for further sandwich-related incursions.

Warming to the idea, many Americans have offered a trade with Denmark taking control of California and the US gaining control of Greenland. Well, at least we’re talking about talking and no one is talking about shooting anymore.
