Hi All,
I’m currently in Jerusalem and spent the afternoon at the Israel Museum where they have the Dead Sea scrolls. One of the scrolls written/copied 2,000 years ago is entirely dedicated to gratitude. I suspect that most successful nations, religions, and cultures make a place for expressing gratitude. In my opinion, our American version is one of the best. To celebrate abundance while inviting the “neighbors” to share a feast with you…to focus on all we have that’s good…is a beautiful practice. In that spirit, here are a few things that I’m grateful for at DKI:
The Board of Advisors
They suggest investment ideas, consult with me when their area of expertise intersects with a position, proof my work, advise me on the business, and provide different perspectives when I need that. They discuss and debate every idea and issue intensely while showing incredible respect for each other. These incredible people have lent me their names and credibility. They’re also some of my best friends. I’m fortunate to have every single one of them associated with the firm.
The Interns
They’re smart, aggressive, polite, and very productive. We have two right now. Cashen takes the lead in organizing and preparing The 5 Things every week, an incredible endeavor for someone so young. Samaksh works with Cashen on The 5 Things and with me on new investment ideas including the two newest additions to the portfolio. They’re both big contributors. Just as important, every one of DKI’s former interns are succeeding in life and in business. I’m proud of every one of them. I know it’s popular to say this generation is lazy and entitled, but a day with the DKI interns would make you feel a lot better about our young people.
The DKI Subscribers (Premium and Free)
Thank you for reading this. Thank you for supporting DKI. Most importantly, thank you for your trust. I’m invested in every idea in the portfolio so we’re all sharing the same results. A special note of gratitude for those of you who have chosen to engage. Your questions help me understand where I need to provide extra explanation. Your comments help me improve the site so it’s more user-friendly. Some of you have become friends which is an additional reward for running the business.
If You’re Feeling Grateful
For those of you who are premium subscribers, and feel like DKI has been helpful to you, I’d appreciate it if you’d refer a friend. It would be a big help. And for those of you who are free subscribers and feel like you’ve gotten value from our free posts, please consider a premium subscription. I’d love to grow the business and there’s no better way than with the people who are already here. Either way, I’m thankful for each one of you.
For the students in the audience, we do offer a discount if you’re still in school. And for those of you who want to join, but have smaller portfolios, reach out at IR@DeepKnowledgeInvesting.com. I’ll send you a coupon you can use while you’re growing that account to a more formidable size.
